There are three cases that we will encounter when solving equations with variables on both sides.
One solution - we can solve for the variable. For example x = 3
No solution - We cannot solve for x and there is no solution that makes the equations true. For example 4 = -2.
Infinite solutions - No matter what is input for x the equation is true. For example we are left with a true statement -5 = -5.
