I'm a little late, but I wanted to thank all of you for coming out to parent-teacher conferences. I always enjoy speaking about such wonderful students and keeping our minds set on success!
I as you may already know. Next week begins Session 1 of the ISTEP+ Test. I am confident that our students will do their best. However, it is important that your student is receiving a good amount of rest and eating a good breakfast in the morning.
We are already reaching the end of the third quarter. Ending March 15th. This is a reminder to make sure your students grades are in order. I will be handing out Notice of Potential Class Failures on Monday. If you are worried about your student's grade please contact me.
Thank you for your continued support!
I really enjoyed time with parents at Parent-Teacher Conferences. It is fun celebrating our students accomplishments and looking to continue to push forward! If you were not able to make it to parent-teacher conferences, don't hesitate to contact me through email. You can do so by clicking here.
No that the second quarter is almost to a close. It is important to remind your student about how quickly the semester break will be here. Keep an eye on grade through Pinnacle. As I consistently remind students there should be no surprises with your grade.
I want to apologize that I have not been keeping up with items on the website more. Our math department is still figuring out how to best integrate items in to our curriculum. Thus, I appreciate your patience. If you ever notice something you would like added or missing do not hesitate to comment below.
I hope you enjoy your Thanksgiving to spend time with families and friends.
We ended the first quarter of the year last Thursday, October 12th and enjoyed a nice fall break on Friday. I enjoyed spending time with my wife and 7 month old son. I hope you enjoyed the extra time with your families.
As we begin the second quarter, both grades are reaching the end of a unit and the first major test grade will be coming into the grade book relatively soon. Keep an eye on the class calendars for upcoming assessments.
Teachers will have grades submitted by Wednesday morning and grade cards should be coming home that afternoon. Looking forward to seeing you at parent/teacher conferences on November 1st & 2nd.
We have upcoming tests in the next two weeks be sure to check out study help and class notes for the following units.
TEST - Wednesday, September 20th
Unit 1: Equations
TEST Wednesday, September 27th, 2017
Begin the study process ASAP! You can also sign up for after school help on the right hand side. Don't wait until the last second!
Both 7th and 8th graders just wrapped up their first rounds of tests on the review units. I saw tremendous amounts of perseverance and effort as we were challenged with new material. Both Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, we spent time going through remediation and enrichment of each unit. The purpose of this time is to help students continue display mastery beyond a test. As a result, nearly every student saw improvement on the learning targets covered in each unit. Students who did not participate in remediation continued to build their skills through enrichment activities, which is designed to improve their skills in mathematics. Our goal is for ALL students to reach enrichment as we end a unit. Parents and guardians please continue to encourage your student. They did a great job!
Moving on to our new units, beginning Thursday. The 8th graders will begin diving into algebra by solving equations and 7th grade will explore integers. Click the links below to see what will be coming up in these new units. As always, support at home is key to success!
I am looking forward to meeting you this evening from 6 to 7:30 PM. During this time I would like to take a moment to have your student take you through our website and see the huge potential for at home help. Not only can helpful videos be watched, but also check out upcoming due dates, request after school help, and track assignments. I hope that this website can be a easy place to keep the communication line open between parents and our school. Never hesitate to contact our math team!
